Author Guidelines

Paradigma Journal is a journal that contains scientific studies on Science, Religion and Culture, presenting scientific articles, both research results and literature reviews.Scientific Studies on Science : an interdisciplinary research area that seeks to situate scientific expertise in broad social, historical, and philosophical contexts. Religious Studies : an academic field devoted to research into religious beliefs, behaviors, and institutions. It describes, compares, interprets, and explains religion, emphasizing systematic, historically based, and cross-cultural perspectives. Cultural Studies : an interdisciplinary research on the formation of knowledge, power, and difference. It traces the relationships among aesthetic, anthropological, and political economic aspects of cultural production and reproduction.


All papers submitted to the journal should be written in good English. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity. English language and copyediting services can be provided by International Science Editing and Asia Science Editing. The work should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The official language of the manuscript to be published in Paradigma Journal is English.

A covering letter outlines the basic findings of the paper and their significance.

Three types of manuscripts are acceptable for publication: Original Research Articles, Review Articles, and Short Communication.

  1. Reviewing of manuscripts


Every submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer-reviewers. Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. If two or more reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within three months of the submission date.

Manuscripts sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to editorial office through the Online Submission Interface ( The revised manuscripts returned later than three months will be considered as new submissions.

  1. Structure of the manuscripts


Title. The title should be brief, short, clear, and informative which reflect the article content. The length of the title maximum 14 words. Each word of the title should be started with a capitalized letter.

Author’s names and institutions. The author’s names should be accompanied by the author’s institutions, affiliation address and email addresses, without any academic titles and/or job title.

Abstract. The abstract should be concise and cover: research objectives, method, results, and conclusion. The abstract length should be between 150-250 words.

Keywords. should be 2 to 5 phrases.

Introduction. This section discusses the purposes of the study or research problems, the contribution to knowledge, and research gap. Please state them clearly in the beginning paragraph supported by related theories in the next paragraphs. (INTRODUCTION to CONCLUSION should be 4.000 – 5.250 words)

Research Method. This section explains the rationale for the application of specific approaches, methods, procedures or techniques used to identify, select, and analyze information applied to understand the research problem/project, thereby, allowing the readers to critically evaluate your project’s/study's overall validity and reliability.

Result and Discussion. This section explains the results of the study. Data should be presented in Tables or Figures when feasible. There should be no duplication of data in Tables and Figures. The discussion should be consistent and should interpret the results clearly and concisely, and their significance, supported by the suitable literature. The discussion should show relevance between the result and the field of investigation and/or hypotheses. The discussion also should compare the result with previous research.

Conclusions : The conclusion is intended to answer the research problems or purposes. It helps the readers understand why your research should matter to them after they have finished reading the paper. It is not just a summary of the main topics covered or a re-statement of your research problem, but a synthesis of key points and, if applicable, where you recommend new areas for future research.

Acknowledgment (if any) to the person(s) or institution(s) who help the experiment should be stated.


Paradigma : Journal of Science, Religion and Culture Studies uses APA 6th referencing style. The references should be in alphabetical order, Use Book Antiqua (12), 1 (one) spaced. The minimum requirement is 20 references. It is preferable to have academic journal as the references published in the last 10 years except for main references of particular theories. It is suggested to apply reference software like Mendeley, Zotero or Endnote.
