Abstract

Distributed generation (DG) application is one of the solution to improve quality of electrical distribution
system.This researchaimed to find a solution for multi DG placement and capacity with Flower Pollination
Algorithm (FPA) to reduce losses and increase voltage profile in system. FPA optimization method is adapting
how flower pollinated by pollinator in nature where the pollinated flower is the best flower. This research use a
radial distribution system 33 buses from IEEE as a model. The result of this research is thatthe power losses
decrease as much as 132,5092 kW and voltage profile increase from its lowest value 0,9134 pu into 0,9729 pu for
DG installed on 14th, 24th, and 30th buses with 759 kW, 1,071 kW and 1,099 kW sequential capacities. Thus it can
be conclude that multi DG application can drop the losses and increase voltage profile in IEEE 33 buses radial
distribution system.
